Indoor Walk-Testing

Walk-Testing involves carrying the latest smartphone devices and potentially a scanner in a back pack around the chosen locations (these can be indoor e.g. shopping malls, outdoors e.g. parks or city walk areas or a combination of both e.g. Hotel complexes) The equipment is controlled and synchronised via a tablet managed by the Walk-Test Technician, so that he can see the status of each device. A maximum of 8 devices can be used at any one time across a combination of networks for Benchmarking, and technologies i.e. 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and even wi-fi. Voice, Data and Video Services can all be tested.

Just-ITC Methodology

For indoor measurements we can have a number of teams with one backpack unit each and 2 handsets per operator (one for voice and one for data) that will allow us to test up to 4 operators concurrently in a benchmark campaign, or multiple handsets to be compared with each other or even for stress testing of an indoor base station scheme for example.

Voice calls and data attempt successes and failures are plotted on a floor plan to show exactly where any failures are recorded for further analysis as to why.

That analysis is carried out after post-processing of the log-files uploaded by the system, reports are generated and recommendations given to the client for action to be taken.
